Graduated in Medicine from the State University of Campinas (1976) and PhD in Surgery from the State University of Campinas (1984). Postdoctoral internship in London, England (1985-86), at the London Hospital. He obtained the title of professor in surgery in 1995 and since 2005 he has been a professor. Head of the Department of Surgery at the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP. He has experience in the area of ​​Medicine, with an emphasis on Gastroenterology Surgery and Experimental Surgery, working mainly on the following topics: esophagus, stomach and duodenum, surgical treatment, dysphagia, esophageal motility, experimental research and digestive endoscopy."
